The Lee County Sheriff's Office fired a deputy accused of crashing his patrol car while under the influence of prescription pills.
Patrick Milosevic, who patrolled the Lehigh Acres area, was arrested back in May.
The Sheriff Office says the 31-year-old deputy admitted during an investigation to taking pills the day of the crash.
"This is of course absolutely unacceptable behavior," said Lee sheriff's spokesman Lt. Larry King.
Milosevic crashed his patrol car while off duty into a parked car at the North Fort Myers Walmart.
"He backed up out of one parking spot and tried to pull into another parking spot and just plowed through a car. He continued to tear up the car all the way down the side," said witness William Sumner.
