A Golden Gate woman is accused of breaking into her mother's home and stealing drugs and jewelry.

Jennifer Tryfus, 25, of the 5400 block of 25th Place Southwest, was arrested Wednesday by Collier County sheriff's deputies at Physicians Regional — Collier Boulevard. She faces charges of burglary and grand theft.

According to an arrest report, when Tryfus' mother returned home after working a night shift, she discovered her home had been rummaged through and realized that prescription pills and a white and yellow gold diamond necklace had been stolen. The victim told deputies she suspected her daughter took the items without permission.

Later, while Tryfus' mom was attempting to locate her daughter, she received a call from Physicians Regional advising that her daughter had been admitted to the hospital and while documenting her information, they found two of her mother's credit cards in her purse, according to reports.

Deputies said the victim told them she has not allowed her daughter over to her house for almost three years due to continued problems. After further investigation, deputies found that Tryfus had given the necklace to a friend of hers who is a taxi driver, according to reports.

The taxi driver told deputies that he had been given the necklace as collateral due to the fact that Tryfus owes him a lot of money in taxi fares.

He also told deputies that he had dropped Tryfus off at Walmart, where she as later picked up by EMS due to being high on an assortment of drugs, reports said.
