Foreign interest in U.S. housing is cooling amid higher prices and the Fort Myers-Cape Coral market is part of the trend, according to a report by Trulia.
In its most recent International House Hunter Report, Trulia found the foreign share of home searches on its website fell nearly 10 percent year-over-year. The second-quarter report was based on all home searches on Trulia.com between April 1 and June 30 in metropolitan areas.
Over the past year, the share of foreign-based searches has dropped the most in local markets where prices have risen the fastest, Trulia reported.
Cape Coral-Fort Myers ranked seventh in the nation for its share of international searches in the second quarter. Its share of searches dropped to 10.2 percent in the quarter, down from 11.9 percent a year ago.
