Sen. Marco Rubio’s plane was forced to make an emergency landing in New Mexico on Saturday, preventing the Florida Republican from stumping for Mitt Romney in Iowa.
But the Romney surrogate and contender for the Republican vice presidential nomination saw the humor in his aeronautical adventure in Albuquerque. He alerted his supporters to the incident in a series of tweets.
"Not one, but two planes I was on today had malfunctions. Second one forced to make emergency landing in New Mexico. I know how to take a hint!" Rubio tweeted.
Rubio rallied Republican supporters in Las Vegas on Saturday before attempting to fly to Iowa.
