Deputies: Man stabbed roommate, threatened to kill

A Bonita Springs man stabbed his roommate twice and later threatened to kill him during separate arguments Saturday night and Sunday morning, Lee County sheriff's deputies said.

David Perez-Gutierrez, 40, of the 26600 block of Cape Verde Lane, faces a charge of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon without intent to kill after his arrest Sunday at his home.

Deputies said Perez-Gutierrez locked his roommate out of their house at about 10:15 p.m. during an argument. Perez-Gutierrez then grabbed a kitchen knife and stabbed his roommate in the arm twice, requiring multiple stitches, an arrest report said.

After returning home from the hospital Sunday morning, deputies said the roommate confronted Perez-Gutierrez, who threatened to kill him.

Deputies couldn't locate the knife, but they took a bloody shirt Perez-Gutierrez was wearing, the report said.
