UPDATE: Lee County sheriff's deputies have identified the woman as 30-year-old Maricela Martinez, of an unknown address. Martinez is recovering from her injuries but doesn't know how she ended up on the side of the road, deputies said. An investigation continues.
Deputies are asking for help identifying a woman found unconscious on the side of the road Monday morning near Old 41 Road and Bonita Beach Road.
Lee County sheriff’s deputies are trying to determine who the woman is and how she ended up alongside the road near the entrance of the Naples-Fort Myers Greyhound Track. She is described as a 5-foot-2-inch, 180-pound Hispanic woman in her 30s, with dark auburn hair. She was wearing black T-shirt, blue jeans and white tennis shoes. Her fingernails and toenails were painted dark green.
The woman was flown Lee Memorial Hospital.
