Daily News website launches new BIZwire service for local business news

— Want others to know your business?

A new section on the Daily News' website — BIZwire — makes it easier to share business news in Southwest Florida.

The news can be found at naplesnews.com/bizwire – and it comes directly from local businesses, who submit their news and press releases online using a simple form.

"When stories are accepted, they will appear online immediately and it's possible they will be used in print in the future," said Stephan Schonberg, director of online services at the Daily News.

First-time users must register. It's free and there's a place to do that on BIZwire.

The information will appear on BIZwire just as it's submitted online if it's accepted. If a submission is rejected and changes are needed, a user will be notified. One photo can be submitted for each press release.

Jeff Bruce, managing editor for news reporting at the Daily News, said BIZwire is a focused tool that allows local businesses to tell their stories both online and in print.

"With both the launch of BIZwire and the new business section, the newspaper is placing greater emphasis on business news coverage, which we believe will be popular with readers and will help us to continue to grow our audience," Bruce said.
