Florida boy found floating in above-ground pool has died

LITHIA, Fla. — Authorities in the Tampa Bay area say a year-old boy found floating in an above-ground pool has died.

The Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office says Kathen Mayo's parents were preparing dinner Thursday evening when they noticed he was missing from their Lithia home.

Deputies say Kathen's parents found him face down in an above-ground swimming pool in their backyard.

Authorities say Kathen died at a Plant City hospital. The medical examiner will determine a cause of death.
