Camp Mackle acton-packed for campers

The City of Marco Island's Camp Mackle summer program continues its Diving into a Sea of Fun theme this week.

Today, some 80 participants, age 6 to 11, receive tennis instruction from Wayne Clark, the Racquet Center tennis professional, at 1 p.m.

On Wednesday, at 10 a.m., Marty Roddy will give a talk on bones, with his collection including, dogs, cats, horses and shark's skull and teeth.

The campers will make safari photo frames, then it will be movie and popcorn time, with campers seeing Jungle 2 Jungle.

On Thursday it's a field trip to the Naples Zoo for the day, followed on Friday with the campers asked to wear camouflage clothing, or animal print clothing, which will conclude the theme week of "It's a Jungle Out There."

The week of June 25-29 will include a trip to the Marco Island Library, a magic show, a field trip to Germain Arena for ice skating and Buddy Day on Friday when a camper can bring a friend.

Participants can join for a day at $20, or a week for $80. Call 642-0575 for more information.
