Thank you, Dave Neill and the Naples Daily News!
I would like to express my appreciation to Neill, the publisher, and the entire team at the Naples Daily News for providing the business community with the opportunity to have fun and celebrate its success.
At the recent Readers’ Choice Awards event, 700 people representing every classification of business in Collier County were treated to an outstanding evening at the Naples Philharmonic Center for the Arts that included a reception with wonderful food and beverages, followed by a professionally choreographed awards presentation.
It was clear from the absence of sponsorship banners, posters and flyers that the event wasn’t about the paper but was focused on honoring those businesses which were selected by a vote of the residents of Collier County as being the best at what they do.
The atmosphere in the auditorium was electric as the winners were announced by local television celebrities and the cheers of celebration continued for two hours.
Members of the newspaper staff sprinted to the location of each winner and, with sincere words of congratulations, presented the awards certificates.
As the economy continues to be a challenge, the Readers Choice Awards event re-energized the business community.
