Tropical Storm Chris is centered about 630 miles southeast of Cape Race, Newfoundland, and is moving east-northeast near 20 mph.

MIAMI — Tropical Storm Chris is moving over the central north Atlantic with little change in strength expected.

The storm's maximum sustained winds early Thursday are near 60 mph. Forecasters said Wednesday that the storm had probably reached its peak intensity. The storm isn't expected to threaten land.

Chris is centered about 630 miles southeast of Cape Race, Newfoundland, and is moving east-northeast near 20 mph.
