Letter: True lies

True lies

A current Obama ad claims that under Mitt Romney, Massachusetts' job creation ranking "fell" to 47th.

President Barack Obama is doing something he is very good at — he is lying by telling the truth.

Under Romney, Massachusetts' job creation fell all the way to 47th, from 50th.

When Romney took office, Massachusetts ranked 50th in job creation. Within a year, he had the state past 47th. He made it fall up to 28th by his final year. The unemployment rate in Massachusetts was 5.6 percent when Romney took office; it was 4.6 percent when he left office in January 2007.

Remember those numbers when you hear the final line in the Obama ad: "It didn't work then; It won't work now."

It worked just fine. What does that say about now?
