An employee of a senior care service is accused of stealing a diamond bracelet and other jewelry from an elderly customer.
Bridget Dally, 32, of the 3400 block of 14th Avenue Southeast, Golden Gate Estates, was arrested Wednesday by Collier County sheriff's deputies at the 3500 block of Grand Cypress Drive.
According to an arrest report, after an 86-year-old woman reported a theft from her jewelry box in her room, a pawn check revealed Dally, who is a health care worker for Home Instead Senior Care, had pawned several pieces of jewelry at a second hand dealer in Naples.
Deputies said Dally received $250 in exchange for a diamond tennis bracelet that was given to the victim as a gift from her daughter and received another $900 for a gold nugget bracelet, a purple gem bracelet and a multicolored ring.
Dally told deputies she stole the jewelry because she needed the money for bills and her family was desperate. Deputies said Dally appeared genuinely sorry for what she did and stated she would repay the victim.
Dally faces charges of grand theft and dealing in stolen property.
