Naples police arrested a 33-year-old man Thursday who they say broke into at least three homes in mid-June, making off with thousands of dollars worth of jewelry and electronics.
Rolando Ramirez, of the 1200 block of Wisconsin Ave., is facing three burglary charges, three grand theft charges and a charge of dealing in stolen property.
On June 15, officers were called to a home in the 2100 block of 13th Street North that had been burglarized, according to an arrest report. The thief entered through the garage by removing a glass window and prying open the garage door into the home.
Once inside, the thief — later identified as Ramirez — stole about $1,000 worth of jewelry, reports said.
Around the same time, officers learned of break-ins at other homes in the neighborhood that the thief entered by breaking glass windows and in one case going through the doggy door, reports said. In two of those cases the thief stole jewelry, televisions and a video game system.
Officers identified Ramirez as a suspect when they discovered he had pawned some of the items. They located him and he confessed.
