— More than five hundred participants, one hundred eighty seven dogs and two monkeys showed up at Coconut Point in Estero, Saturday March 31, 2012. This was Gulf Coast Humane Society’s 2nd Annual Fast & Furriest 5k Run/1 mile fun walk to benefit their shelter.

It was a beautiful sunrise as participants lined up to register for the benefit race and receive their doggie bags filled with a t-shirt and treats. Dogs of every size, breed and color were anxious along with their owners for the start of the race.

Vendors lined the streets of Coconut Point to give their support in any way they can. Batteries Plus, Halters by Nikki.com, Invisible Fence, Costco and Specialists in Veterinary Surgery were present to name just a few.
