I loved the name of the newest store on Third Street South, Naples, and couldn't wait to see what goodies were tucked inside. I wasn't disappointed as everything in the store lives up to the name — St. Tropez — and you can envision the pieces coming alive in the South of France or any place on the water. The store reflects the lifestyle of a beach area like ours with sophisticated pieces to add to your home or to encourage a new collection. This is a European home design store where you can find the perfect hostess gift, a special piece of furniture to finish a room or to have your home designed from top to bottom. Visit to browse, buy or dream.I was attracted to the Anne Metal Champagne crown cooler ($450) that would make a great centerpiece when it wasn't in use. This is an object that will make your guests feel like royalty.

Get the beach feel with some of the Italian Vietri dinnerware and home accessories line. The large blue crab-decorated bowl ($88) is the perfect size to pile in the stone crabs, pasta or a salad. Just displaying it out of the cabinet gives a seaside feeling. Add the salad serving pieces with a crab and rope design ($95) to help serve.

Keep the sea theme going with Vietri's fish plates ($28). The one pictured is the small or salad size, but there also is a larger one that is suitable as a dinner plate. What fun it would be to have a sandwich served on this plate.

You can also get cotton napkins and place mats by Vietri to coordinate with the dishes.

Leave Italy and go to France with this Gien Provence candy dish ($130). It is big so you can use it for more than candy. The company has been in business since 1821, but not to worry — these are dishwasher- and microwave-safe and perfect for the 21st century.

If you like tea and want to serve it in style get the Raynaud Cristobal turquoise teapot ($485). This piece is almost too pretty to use and will look great sitting on a shelf looking majestic. At a single glance, the color brings the sea into your home.

If you like turquoise and the color of the Gulf you will love the SIA goblets ($22 each). Sipping from them will take you away to a place with cool breezes and palm trees, which could be right out your front door.

Serve favorite cheeses on this hardwood tray with a pewter crab ($230) looking as if it is ready to grab the biggest piece. No one at your party would dare be crabby with these beautiful pieces scattered about.

Ike likes it

Ike was looking for a gift and found something he couldn't leave in the store.

The verdict: I wanted to get my daughters something that would make their eyes widen in surprise at my great taste. I stopped at Br Uno on Third Street South, Naples, to see their latest supply of fabulous gifts and flipped for the Pop Phone ($40). It is a telephone handset that fits into a cellphone so you can talk and hear through a real receiver. I liked the convenience of the gadget, but loved the neon colors. Like its name, it popped. Hope my girls' eyes do also.
