A Golden Gate couple was arrested Sunday after authorities said the two left their children in a car while they drank and danced inside a local bar early Sunday.

Hector M. Jimenez Vasquez and Erica Monique Jimenez Vasquez, both 25, whose exact address was not released, face charges of child neglect without great bodily harm.

According to an arrest report, a Collier County sheriff's deputy noticed a boy standing outside a gold Chrysler in the parking lot of El Amanecer Latino bar around 1:30 a.m. and saw the boy's sister sleeping in the back seat. No adults were supervising.

Inside the bar, the deputy found the children's parents on the dance floor dressed in "nice attire," reports said. While speaking with them, he noticed they smelled like alcohol, the arrest report said.

As of Monday, bond for the couple had not been set, and the two remained at the Naples Jail Center. The ages of their children were redacted from reports.
