The results of the elections in France and Greece warn of grave prospects for the forthcoming elections in the US. The forces of socialism have won the day and will propel Europe into a deeper recession and more socio-economic chaos that will have worldwide repercussions. It is abundantly clear that “austerity” to the French and Greek electors is a hollow concept and one to be avoided.
The voters of France and Greece have chosen to continue and increase their dependence on the State. The notion of providing for one’s own future and self-reliance are being eradicated. The French and Greeks have, for all intents and purposes, irrevocably transferred their right of self-determination and that of their children and grand children to the State.
It is self-evident that the people of France and Greece are unwilling to make the necessary sacrifices to correct the failed economic policies of the past. Their refusal to deal with the consequences of their previous choices is tantamount to selling themselves into slavery to the governing elite.
Their inability to understand the abject failure of such utopias as Russia, Cuba and North Korea baffles the rational mind. As John Locke so eloquently said, “Every man has a property in his own person. This nobody has a right to, but himself.” The French and Greeks, two great nations and people who gave birth to liberty, have abdicated theirs.
