A Estero man was accused Wednesday of pushing his mother onto a chair as they fought about a cigarette purchase.

Paul David McCallion, 51, of the 9400 block Springview Loop, faces charges of criminal mischief and battery on a person 65 or older.

According to an arrest report, McCallion was angry that his mother had bought cigarettes for his sister and pushed the 73-year-old woman into a chair as he got up from the dining room table. A wall decoration also was broken during the argument.

As of Thursday, McCallion remained at the Lee County jail on bonds totalling $20,000.
