Stan's buzzards win first game, Rookies stays unbeaten

The Stan’s Buzzard Crew was swarming as it got its first victory of the season over the Snook Inn, 22-10.

The team hitting came alive for Stan’s with three players having three hits each Jason Berning, two doubles and a triple, Lee Vanderjagt, two doubles and a single, and Matt Pratt , single, double and triple, and Greg St Amour’s grand slam homer was too much fire power for Snook to keep up with.

The girls for Stan’s played outstanding defense, with first baseman Lauren Mitchusson having a great game on the bag. Snook Inn was led by Damon Jobin’s two hits and Teresa Gangl, Ray Unsderfer and John Wilkins all adding base hits.

In game two, which featured the two undefeated teams, Rookies showed it strength at the plate , defeating

Kretch’s 20-7.

Rookies was led by Eddie Kirst’s three hits including a three-run home run. Marc Canady added three hits, while Missy Canady, Michelle Richardson, Kenny Moss, Chris Bronson all had two hits a piece.

Bruce Kretschmer, Jon Wright and Wes Smith all had two hits each for Kretch’s.

Co-Ed Softball is played every Thursday at Winterberry Field, with games beginning at 6:30 p.m.

Hot Dogs and snacks for purchase provided by Beach Dogs of Marco.

Standings after three weeks:

Rookie’s, 3-0, Kretch’s 2-1, Stan’s, 1-2 and Snook Inn, 0-3.
