Florida teen killed during street shootout

WEST PALM BEACH — Authorities are investigating a street shootout that left a teen dead in West Palm Beach.

The shooting happened about 5:30 p.m. Sunday. West Palm Beach police spokesman Allan Ortman says two men in a black sports car pulled beside a man standing beside a bicycle in a vacant lot and opened fire.

The Palm Beach Post reports witnesses told police the men exchanged gunfire and the car sped away.

Ortman says the victim was 16 to 20 years old. He says police found a gun on the dead man and are checking to see if it was fired.

Police have not released the victim's name.
