Casey Weston

Lytle: How do you know in a career that’s strange to you, and everybody says it’s a jungle out there, how do you know who to listen to? How do you know who are the good guys, who are the bad guys? How do you figure that out?

Weston: It’s a lot of gut instinct, because there are a lot of sharks out there. You have to be careful for everyone who has their own interest in what they want from you. And my dad put it really well. He said, "Everyone has an enlightened interest," which means that, yes, they want something for themselves. But as long as it’s something that you want as well ...

So I think that the core of it is that you have to have the instinct of who’s a good person, who’s not. And then I really come back to my family, who I trust more than anything in the world. So they kind of give me their opinions.

Lytle: You’re lucky. They’re with you.

Weston: Yes, they’re a hundred percent with me and so supportive. So I really ... I can lean on them for any question of morals of other people.
