Boat found adrift in Marco Island turns out to be stolen

An unoccupied boat in Marco Island turned out to be stolen.

A Marco resident called the police earlier this month about a 28-foot boat floating by his house on the 1500 block of Caxambas Court without anyone aboard.

Marco Police located the boat and found 23 containers of fuel on board the 2004 Pursuit.

A police investigation revealed the board at been removed from a nearby residence's lift the previous night.

I saw boat tues morning while I was on a passing boat. Theory is that perps took boat at night and got stuck on sandbar. they then abandoned boat and swam to shore or got picked up by someone in another boat. Once tide came up, boat floated free and drifted up against seawall where boat was found.Perps escaped. I wonder who gets to keep fuel? my guess is home service workers give tips on boats easy to steal. drwown the perps...
