A Naples man accused of punching his neighbor was arrested after police saw him bragging about it on Twitter, according to an arrest report.

Brandon Michael Perry’s neighbor told Naples police he was in an argument with Perry about Perry’s sister. The Perry family shouted threats and profanities at the neighbor on Oct. 25, according to the neighbor’s account.

Later that day, the neighbor said he was riding his bicycle home from the grocery store when Perry punched him in the side of the face, knocking him off the bicycle, according to an arrest report. The man reported the battery after being treated at NCH Downtown Naples Hospital, a report said.

Detectives later found Perry’s Twitter account, where he describes himself as a “Pill popping animal!” and father of one. The morning of the attack, Perry posted around 10:37 a.m., “I’m going to knock this (expletive) (expletive) (expletive) out today!,” according to an arrest report.

About 10 minutes later, Perry writes that the victim was “talking about callin da police!” and surmises “He betta call Jesus, because that’s da only thing gone save him!”

After the neighbor told police he wished to press charges, Perry again took to Twitter, saying at 5:39 p.m. the victim “really put da police on me for real!!! A (expletive) done (expletive) his whole life up!”

Six hours later, Perry turned reflective. “Thinking about going to turn myself in, in a lil bit! I just hate that long ass booking process!”

Perry met with but declined to speak with detectives Wednesday. On his Twitter account, Perry says he went down to the police station because “If I don’t go, a warrant will b out by noon!”

Perry, who faces a charge of battery, was released from the Naples Jail Center after posting $2,000 bond. According to his Twitter page, he had his bond money ready. He professed that authorities “can’t hold a (expletive) in forever!”
