Prep football: Playoff scenarios

PLAYOFF SCENARIOS

This is the last week of district play for Florida football teams. After Friday night, every team will know its postseason fate. The champion and runner-up from each district in the state qualify for the regional playoffs beginning Friday, Nov. 16.

CLASS 7A-DISTRICT 11

Champion: The winner of Friday night's Charlotte at Port Charlotte game.

Runner-up: Charlotte will be runner-up with a loss. If Port Charlotte loses and Lemon Bay beats Gulf Coast, Lemon Bay will be runner-up. If Port Charlotte loses and Gulf Coast beats Lemon Bay, the teams will play a three-way tiebreaker for second place Monday.

CLASS 6A-DISTRICT 11

Champion: South Fort Myers has clinched the title, and will host the District 12 runner-up (either Barron Collier or Palmetto Ridge) in the first round.

Runner-up: Cape Coral-Island Coast has clinched second place, and will play at District 12 champion Naples in the first round.

CLASS 6A-DISTRICT 12

Champion: Naples has clinched the title, and will play host to Island Coast, the District 11 runner-up, in the first round.

Runner-up: The winner of Friday night's Palmetto Ridge at Barron Collier game will be the runner-up in Class 6A-District 12, and play at District 11 champion South Fort Myers in the first round.

CLASS 5A-DISTRICT 11

Lehigh plays at Estero, and East Lee County plays at Cape Coral on Friday night.

If Estero and East Lee win: East Lee is champion. Estero is runner-up.

If Estero and Cape Coral win: Cape Coral, East Lee and Estero play in a three-way tiebreaker for the district's two playoff spots.

If Lehigh and East Lee win: East Lee is champion. Cape Coral, Estero and Lehigh play tiebreaker for runner-up.

If Lehigh and Cape Coral win: Cape Coral is champion. East Lee is runner-up.

CLASS 5A-DISTRICT 12

The winner of Friday night's Immokalee at Golden Gate game will be Class 5A-District 12 champion. The loser will be district runner-up.

CLASS 2A-DISTRICT 6

Champion: First Baptist has clinched the title, and will host the District 5 runner-up in the first round.

Runner-up: Moore Haven is runner-up, and will play at the District 5 champion in the first round.
