Two people were arrested early Monday after a woman in East Naples reported seeing them rummaging through her car and a neighbor's car.
Eleanor Anne Colon and Jerry Jose Gomez, both of whom are 19 and listed as homeless, face charges of burglary and grand theft. Gomez also is accused of possessing burglary tools.
Around 3:30 a.m., a woman on the 8100 block of Sanctuary Drive told deputies she screamed at the pair after seeing them inside the cars. Both Colon and Gomez ran from the area but were caught by deputies.
Both car owners said they had left the vehicles unlocked. Nothing was stolen from one car, but a check book, five cartons of cigarettes, two bracelets and coins were stolen from the other, according to an arrest report.
Colon told deputies she broke into the car because she needed money.
