Collier County officials will hold an anti-human trafficking event Saturday in Immokalee to inform residents about services available to them.
"A Day Without Slavery" will be held from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Immokalee Community Park, 321 N. First St.
The Sheriff's Office said its goal is to reach out to the community and encourage people to report suspected trafficking. IDs will not be checked, according to a news release. Youth Relations deputies will offer free child identification kits, and the Health Care Network of Southwest Florida and the Ronald McDonald care mobile will offer free eye exams.
The event also features food, music and children's activities.
Catch of the Day: May 23, 2013
