FHP: Repairs to damaged I-75 overpass may take weeks

Daniels Parkway overpass at Interstate 75

Florida Highway Patrol says the repairs to the Daniels Parkway overpass at Interstate 75 may take weeks to repair after Tuesday's accident.

The overpass was struck by a semi-truck on Tuesday afternoon as the truck passed underneath. A hydraulic arm on the backhoe, which was sitting on the trailer, hit the top part of the underpass.

Due to debris falling from the underpass, just one lane is open on Daniels Parkway eastbound. The ramp to get onto I-75 northbound from Daniel's eastbound will also be closed.

On I-75, one southbound lane is open at the overpass and two lanes northbound are open.
