Letter: Money is too loud

Bobby Schweikert, Naples

Money is too loud

I am extremely worried about the slippery slope we are taking by allowing so much money being donated to these political campaigns! Will our votes really count? Will Congress really make decisions on our behalf? Will we be heard in Congress on important issues that will affect us? I fear not!

The Supreme Court gave that power to a small group of extremely wealthy men and corporations by allowing unlimited amounts of money to be donated to their campaigns. Deep-pocket elitists like Sheldon Adelson, the Koch Brothers and others will be dictating and running our government.

Don't you think that these people will be wanting something back for their dollars? Have you ever thought of the implications that could be involved in our political decision-making by Congress if they are influenced by these people — and some other countries too?

Look at the bigger picture, America! Remember that money is power!
