Home invasion location
Three Miami men will serve 10 years in prison for an armed home-invasion robbery in Golden Gate Estates last year that left one intruder with a gunshot wound.
The trio pleaded no contest Tuesday to charges related to a break-in at an Everglades Boulevard house on the morning of July 26, 2011. The men — Fidel Abel Marrero-Rodriguez, 28; Yadier Gonzalez-Rodriguez, 28; Pedro Luis Herrera, 26 — all must serve the full 10 years under mandatory minimum guidelines. They also received 10 years probation.
Deputies said the men approached a house on the 6700 block of Everglades Boulevard, each carrying guns and telling homeowner, Jackie Bracey, they were police officers. When Bracey realized the men weren't police and started screaming, her husband, Ronald, grabbed a handgun and shot one of the intruders in the shoulder, sending the men running.
All three pleaded no contest to charges of attempted home invasion robbery with a firearm and impersonating a law enforcement officers. A fourth suspect remains at-large.
