A Lehigh Acres man was treated for minor injuries after a Lee County School District bus backed into his car Monday morning.
None of the 27 students from River Hall Elementary School in Alva were injured, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.
The wreck happened on 59th Street West near the intersection of Joan Avenue North around 8:18 a.m. Troopers said the bus driver, Fransara Jackson, 32, of Lehigh Acres, backed into the other car at a stop light. The driver of the second vehicle, Samuel Grippo, 42, was treated and released from Gulf Coast Hospital for minor injuries.
The students were transferred to another bus and taken to school, according to FHP. Jackson was cited for improper backing.
