Police: Robbery reported at Naples hotel

Naples police are investigating a robbery that happened Sunday night at a local hotel.

Around 7:20 p.m., an employee at the Inn Place Hotel, 1785 Fifth Ave. S., was making coffee when a female suspect approached her, according to an incident report.

The woman put her hand in her sweatshirt, indicating she had a weapon, and demanded money from the employee, police said. The employee gave the robber $187 from the cash register.

The robber then told the employee to get on the floor while she crashed through the front door to escape, a report said. A witness said the suspect ran south through the parking lot and through some bushes at a nearby Olive Garden.

Officers used a Sheriff’s Office K9 to track the suspect, but it was unsuccessful. The suspect is described as a light-skinned woman about 6 feet tall, wearing gray sweatpants, a gray hoodie, black shoes with white soles, sunglasses over her eyes and a black bandanna over her mouth.

An investigation into the robbery is ongoing.
