See Barron Collier, Gulf Coast High bands marching on TV

The Barron Collier marching band makes their way to the stadium before the start of the Palmetto Ridge-Barron Collier football game Friday, Nov. 2 at Barron Collier High School.

Two Collier County high school bands will march Thursday in nationally broadcast Thanksgiving Day parades.

Members of Barron Collier High’s marching band will perform in McDonald’s Thanksgiving Day Parade in Chicago, while Gulf Coast High School’s band marches in the Philadelphia Thanksgiving Day Parade.

The Chicago parade will be broadcast from 9 to 11 a.m. on WGN America, Comcast cable channel 11. The Philadelphia parade broadcasts from 9 a.m. to noon on ABC Network, Comcast cable channel 7. It will also stream online at 6abc.com.

The Gulf Coast band is scheduled to appear on ABC’s “Good Morning America” between 7:30 and 7:40 a.m. Thursday.
