Venture X at the Mercato in North Naples will host an FGCU entrepreneurship hub.

The business will unite Florida Gulf Coast University business and engineering students to bring new products to the market during the event at 5 p.m. Dec. 5.

Students who are building products and developing business plans this fall will bring their ideas to life as they demonstrate them at Venture X, a work space at 9128 Strada Place. They have been working with Goodwill to develop a new and efficient product for people with disabilities and disadvantages.

The engineering students' challenge is to develop and build a prototype while the business students develop the professional business plan to raise money and market the new product. Winning teams will receive $1,000 from Venture X.
