Former Florida Gulf Coast University golfer Derek Lamely, Cape Coral's Connor Arendell, and reigning Terra Cotta Invitational champion Donald Constable will begin their shot at 2013 PGA Tour cards today at PGA West in LaQuinta, Calif.
Lamely played the tour the last three years, but lost his card. Arendell, a former Louisville golfer, and Constable are making their first attempts.
The top 25 finishers and ties after Monday's sixth round will earn exempt status on the PGA Tour in 2013. The next 50 have exempt status on the Web.com Tour, and the 50 after that have conditional status on the Web.com Tour.
First Tee Invitational: PGA Tour players Sean O'Hair and George McNeill, who is from Fort Myers, and Champions Tour player Chip Beck will appear at the inaugural First Tee Invitational on Monday at Calusa Pines Golf Club.

Eagles Celebrity Golf Classic: The tournament, held after Sunday's FGCU Night at the Nest, features current MLB players, including former Eagles lefty Chris Sale, who was an All-Star for the Chicago White Sox this season. Former Barron star Chris Resop, now a pitcher with the Pittsburgh Pirates, former Eagles pitcher Casey Coleman, who is in the Chicago Cubs organization, current Yankees pitcher Derek Lowe, a Fort Myers resident, are among those expected to be at the Night at the Nest who could also play in the golf tournament at Miromar Lakes.
Registration is from 7:30 to 8:30, with a 9 a.m. shotgun start, followed by lunch and awards from 1:30 to 3 p.m.
Fiddlesticks Scramble: The two-person scramble is Dec. 8-9 and is $187.50 for members and $225 for nonmembers per person. The deadline for entries is Saturday at 5 p.m.
There is a 1 p.m. shotgun on Dec. 8, and an 8 a.m. shotgun on Dec. 9. Lunch and awards follow Sunday. The field is limited to the first 84 team entries. Handicaps will be used to flight the event.
