IberiaBank holds document shredding event

IberiaBank will shred documents for free from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 13, at one of its branches, 605 Bald Eagle Drive, Marco Island.

Residents and small business owners can securely dispose of old bank statements, checks, contracts, junk mail and other documents. A $2 donation is requested per box with all proceeds benefitting YMCA Reads!, an after-school reading program for children.

Naples attorney named a 'best lawyer'

Co-founder retires from Pelican Wire

Theresa Bill, who helped found Pelican Wire Co. Inc., a Collier County wire insulating and sales business, with her husband, Larry, has retired.

They formed the business in Illinois in 1969 and moved to Naples in 1975. She served as the longtime secretary-treasurer of the business, which produces resistance and thermocouple wire and cable. Larry Bill died in 2008.

"She really brought a focus to customer service, and taught us all to be direct and honest," said Ted Bill, her son and Pelican Wire president.

Architectural firm promotes two

Fort Myers-based commercial architecture firm Studio+ has promoted two employees.

Chris Ressler is now senior project director and Mark Shannon is the new director of operations.

Ressler will be responsible for managing project schedules and individual project design and management. Shannon will oversee general operations of the firm's Fort Myers office.
