Letter to the Editor: Divide and conquer

Last year Chairman Magel’s letter to the editor misrepresented the facts pertaining to the Marco Island Property Owner’s newsletter.

This year Chairman Magel is still trying to divide the condo owners and the homeowners. We are one island. We all have issues that concern all property owners: Seawall replacement, Mackle Park, Density in mid-town; walk in clinics; parking, horse and buggy rides, Marco’s debt, and a large scale commercial building on the east side of Collier Boulevard.

Chairman Magel sent a letter to all condo managers stating that they should recommend to their owners that they should vote for council candidates based solely on Water Utility rates. The council has already voted on this issue. Marco Island property owners represents all property owners.

Condo and Property owners should cast their vote on all issues concerning Marco Island not just on past water issues.

Finally, a citizen with a wide view in approaching and reviewing issues that may impact the quality and cost to residing on Marco Island. A broad list of criteria in making a selection of candidates. Versus the approach, a sitting Chairman of city council, has chosen to "inform" certain groups on a single issue using fear to pit citizens against citizens.

Mr. Jermanok represents what is good on Marco, while Mr. Magel represents .....

I only wished Mr. Jermanok represented me as Chairman of city council, NOT Mr. Magel.

What is the "Big Surprise" regarding the divide and conquer tactics exhibited by Aceri's Cronies?

This method of behavior has been going on for years by the group that "ballistically" jammed Magel into office.

Each time there is an election we have questionable tactics used by these people who wish to "push one by" the citizens of Marco.

The switch of vote from being against the STRP to being for the STRP by one candidate immediately after being elected. The sudden without proper public input, naming of City Hall by that same councilor. HMMMMM?

The divide and conquer tacktics by our former city manager claiming that the majority of citizens wanted the STRP, without a vote presented to the public. HMMMMM?

What does it take to see the manipulation and in my opinion, unethical behavior by the "Cronies of Arceri Club" (COAC) is harming the dream of the Mackle Brothers, which was to have an Island Paradise for its residents rather than the Atlantic City plans of COAC?

What do all the residents want, both condo owners and homeowners? Is it more hotels, miniture golf courses, broken down water plants,
unethical councilors or is it the Island Paradise that the Mackle Brothers dreamed of and what we moved here for?

I know what my choice is!
