A Palmetto Ridge High School student spent his 18th birthday behind bars after he was accused of stealing his school's master key, breaking in and stealing a yearbook.
Luis Enrique Munoz-Diaz, of the 4100 block of Everglades Boulevard, Golden Gate Estates, was arrested Thursday at his school by Collier deputies. School security footage from Sept. 29 shows Munoz-Diaz walking through classrooms and offices at Palmetto Ridge High School holding a green key lanyard, according to an arrest report.
Munoz-Diaz told a deputy he saw the master key in the assistant principal's office while volunteering over the summer, but never entered the school until Sept. 29, reports said. Munoz-Diaz was told to return the yearbook when he goes to school to pick up his work.
He faces charges of burglary and petty theft.
