Ahighlight of Marco Island Academy's Homecoming Week was the announcement of its King and Queen at halftime of the football game on Friday night.
One of the football players, Nick Dotson, and Annmarie Grossi, both juniors, were named King and Queen. He was escorted by his mother, Renee and she was escorted by her father, John.
Each member of the court had decorated boxes that they opened, with two having "Congrats" balloons, denoting the winners
In their court were freshmen Mishel Nazarako, escorted by her mother, Betrina, and Jean Paul Brito, escorted by his aunt, Dolores Gonzalez; sophomores Romina Gimenez, escorted by her mother, Sylvia and Noel Cabrera, escorted by his mother, Jeannette; juniors Mayra Ortega, escorted by Kirby Rients, Academy language arts teacher, Diamonique Wood, escorted by her mother, Joanne Nadler, Jacob Hurtley, escorted by his mother, Michelle and John Olszak, escorted by his mother, Sue.
