Body found in south Fort Myers pond
Lee County investigators have not yet identified a man whose body was found in a south Fort Myers retention pond Wednesday morning.
Around 8:20 a.m., someone notified deputies of a possible body floating in a pond by a gatehouse on Renaissance Way. Detectives said nothing at the scene indicated foul play.
Sheriff’s Office spokeswoman Sgt. Stephanie Eller said investigators took fingerprints from the white man but have not otherwise been able to identify him. An autopsy will be performed to determine cause of death.
