2 Ave Maria students accused of stealing from dorms

Two Ave Maria students are accused of stealing two laptops and $160 from a dorm room over the weekend, according to Collier deputies.

An arrest report said Randy Renard Hampton Jr. and Taylor Lee Placides, both 20, took the items from two other students' dorm room on Saturday night. After watching surveillance videos, a deputy later found the computers in a backpack inside a dorm room belonging to Hampton and Placidies.

Hampton and Placides each face two counts of grand theft and one count of burglary.
