An East Naples man was taken to jail early Tuesday after his roommate said he stole his van, cash and a diamond ring.

Around 1:40 a.m., Collier deputies were sent to the 2600 block of Lakeview Drive, where a man said his Chrysler Town and Country minivan had been stolen. The man said both his roommate and his keys, which he had left on the kitchen counter, were missing.

The man's roommate, Daniel Eugene Papini, 28, was arrested by Naples police around 2:30 a.m. for driving with a suspended license. Papini also faces charges of grand theft auto and grand theft.
