A Miami woman is accused of trying to cash a stolen check Monday at a Bonita Springs bank.

Lee County deputies said a bank teller became suspicious when a woman, later identified as Jennifer Anne Ives, 31, came through the drive thru at Wells Fargo, 12801 Bonita Beach Road. Ives tried to deposit $800 of a $2,682 check and get the remaining $1,882 in cash, according to an arrest report.

The teller called authorities because she recognized the woman from a similar successful transaction a week before. Ives told her she would park her car and come inside the bank but instead, she drove away, a report said.

Collier deputies later were able to track the vehicle to the Pebblebrooke Plaza in the 15000 block of Collier Boulevard after Ives' rental car company helped them obtain a GPS signal. Another detective confirmed that the check Ives was trying to cash was stolen in a Miami burglary earlier that day.

Ives was arrested and taken to the Naples Jail Center, where she faces charges of grand theft, using a person's ID without consent, uttering a forged instrument and driving while license suspended.
