Lee deputies investigating shooting, home invasion robbery

One person was shot and another was hit in the head after a reported home invasion robbery in Bonita Springs early Wednesday.

Around 3:15 a.m., Lee County deputies went to a duplex on the 26000 block of London Lane, where several people said they were at home when the robbery happened. Both of the injured people were taken to area hospitals with non-life-threatening injuries.

Deputies used K-9 units and a helicopter to search the area but were unable to find suspects, according to a news release. Investigators believe there is more than one suspect.

Sheriff’s Office reports gave few details of the robbery and did not say what, if anything, was stolen. Deputies said it was likely an isolated event.
