Lee County sheriff’s detectives are investigating a second Bonita Springs home invasion robbery that took place late Wednesday.
Just before 9 p.m., deputies received the call of a home invasion in the 4000 block of Springs Lane. The victim returned home from work and two suspects dressed in black forced their way inside, according to a news release. One of the suspects displayed a weapon and they fled with an undisclosed amount of cash.
K-9, patrol and aviation units established a perimeter and were searching for the suspects late Wednesday.
The first home invasion occurred around 3:15 a.m. at a duplex on the 26000 block of London Lane. In that case, several people said they were home when the robbers entered, shot one person and struck a second person on the head. Both victims in that case were taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
Detectives do not believe the two cases are related, Sheriff’s Office spokeswoman Stephanie Eller said.
