It is amazing how the City Council Chairman can accurately predict what three council candidates (Honecker, Petricca, and Sacher) will do to the Water and Sewer Rates if they are elected to City Council. I can only assume that the chairman’s purpose in sending his letters to the condos is to mislead the condo voters (to enrage them) so that they vote for his endorsed candidates. As a former condo owner myself I witnessed the same strategy in 2010.
By electing the council chairman’s endorsed candidates, he maintains power over the council and the city manager to continue his vision and those of his advisors as to how the city is developed. His vision is “I,” “I” and “I” as we saw with the recent vote he pushed through regarding the sea wall ordinance, not “we” or “us”, because he thinks he knows best. There are several examples of what he thought and when properly vetted were contrary to his position.
Now the council chairman has written a letter to the Island Country Club members advising them that if Honecker, Petricca and Sacher are elected to City Council they will double the current water re-use rate to the Club (although he conveniently neglected to mention that Island Club receives a discounted rate). He has no factual basis for making that claim. Once again I can only assume his purpose is to ENRAGE the Members to vote for his selected candidates who will follow his will.
In both his correspondences to the condominiums and the Island Country Club, he fails to mention that effective Jan. 1, 2013 all classes of customers will receive a six percent Water and Sewer Rate Increase approved by him and the 3 incumbents seeking re-election as well as increases to commercial. users and owners of single family homes.
The time has arrived when the voters of Marco Island can elect new candidates that truly represent all the residents of our community and their concerns. It is time for a change!
Don’t let the myth buster keep spreading the myth that he is the only one who speaks the truth and everyone else lies and are negative people.
I find it sad when elections turn so ugly that candidates in desperation to get elected (or re-elected) send out false information to frighten voters into following their self-serving purposes.
