Letter to the Editor: Us against them?

How ironic that our City Council chairman keeps using these words. One would have expected to hear the word all come from his lips. Cops and robbers. Cowboys and Indians. Good guys and bad guys. Us and them. Please!

[Monday] at City Council, Mr. Magel made it a point to talk about us vs. them. My question is – Mr. Magel – Are you an “us” or a “them?” Mr. Magel, once you can decide which one you are, then it is obvious you and your endorsed slate of candidates (Honing, Recker, Gibson and Mayer) do not support all residents of Marco – as you put it the other group. Thank you for making that distinction for the voters of Marco.

Messrs. Sacher, Petricca and Honecker have stated over and over that they represent the views of all residents. So people of Marco, before you vote – please ask yourself are you an us or a them?

I would like to vote for the candidates that think of Marco residents as a we!

Judy's been reading Dr. Seuss:

"until the Plain nor the Star-Bellies knew
Whether this one was that one or that one was this one. Or which one was what one or what one was who.
The day they decided that Sneetches are Sneetches.
And no kind of Sneetch is the best on the beaches".
