SUV rollover critically injures woman Monday on Alico Road

A Fort Myers woman is in critical condition Monday after her sport utility vehicle overturned in a ditch along Alico Road in south Fort Myers.

Katasha T. Dukes, 32, was eastbound on Alico Road east of Devore Lane just after midnight, when her 1998 Mercury Mountaineer SUV veered left, crossed into the westbound lane and onto the north shoulder. The vehicle overturned, partially ejecting Dukes from the SUV, the Florida Highway Patrol reports.

Dukes was critically injured in the crash and taken to Lee Memorial Hospital in Fort Myers. She was cited for failure to use the designated lane and for not wearing a seat belt, FHP reports.
