A Golden Gate man accused of robbing an East Naples bank and firing shots into the Seminole police station in Immokalee was moved Thursday to the Naples Jail Center.
Authorities served Wakim Stewart, 37, with warrants on charges of attempted murder of an officer, shooting into a building, discharging a firearm from a vehicle, robbery with a firearm and grand theft. Stewart had been being held at the Lee County jail since he was arrested in July at the Lani Kai hotel in Fort Myers Beach, said Michelle Batten, spokeswoman for the Collier County Sheriff's Office.
Both the robbery at Bank of America, 4898 Davis Blvd., and the shooting took place in July. Stewart, of the 1700 block of 41st Terrace Southwest, is being held on bonds totaling $1.6 million, according to jail records.
