A Naples man is accused of breaking into his neighbors' homes and punching them in the face late Sunday.
A man who lives on the 600 block of Fourth Avenue South said he woke to someone knocking on his door, then heard someone smashing the glass on the front door and entering the apartment around 10 p.m. His neighbor, later identified as Rene Pumilia, then punched him in the face, according to an arrest report.
While at the scene, another neighbor approached officers with a similar story. The second man said Pumilia knocked on his front door and asked if he grabbed the mother of his child, a report said.
The neighbor said he did not know what Pumilia was talking about. Pumilia quickly left, then returned, kicked in the door and punched his neighbor in the face, according to the report.
Police later found Pumilia in a nearby alley. He told officers he believed one of his neighbors grabbed the mother of his child; officers later determined it was a separate unidentified man, not the two that he punched.
Pumilia, 27, faces two counts of burglary and two counts of battery.
